Mary E. Waller was the daughter of Pomfret Waller (1774-1814) and his wife
Sarah. We do
not know Sarah's surname. I would appreciate information regarding William
A. Smith's
parents and Sarah's maiden name.
Mary Eleanor Waller and her husband William A. Smith first went to Todd Co,
KY about 1842
as they were in the 1840 Louisa Co, Virginia census. Todd Co deed book has
them buying
land in late 1842. 1850 census Todd Co KY show 1 child born in VA and the
rest born in KY.
In 1852 they sold land in Todd Co and moved to Union Co KY. Here they are in
records until
late 1870's. My ancestor was their middle daughter Josephine. She married
John Robertson
of Union Co KY.
According to marriage records of Louisa Co, VA, Mary Eleanor Waller's
sisters Americus M.
Waller and Sarah A. P. Waller married brothers Benjamin Hancock and Joseph
Hancock. They
were also in Todd Co KY.
The children of William A Smith and Mary Eleanor Waller were Sarah, Joseph
Frank,
Josephine, William and Mary E.
