Mary Ann Waller married Jared Ellison Groce and came to the area that would become the town of Hempstead Texas in 1822. She was a G-granddaughter of Colonel John Waller (1673-1754) Spotsylvania Co, VA. Very much an "Endfield" Waller. From Mary Ann's standpoint, it is coincidence that this area would be named "Waller County". The county is named after a different Waller. (More on this later)
