We don’t know exactly when, or from where, Thomas Waller came to Obion County TN. He married Eliza Johnston in neighboring Gibson County on November 15, 1843. In 1848 they had a son which they named Thomas Overton Waller. Shortly before or after the birth of his son, Thomas Sr. died. Family tradition has it he was killed while performing his duties as deputy-sheriff.

Widow Eliza Johnston Waller married Jessee B. Morgan on January 17, 1850. The couple with Eliza’s son Thomas, moved to nearby Puxico (Stoddard County) Missouri.

Young Thomas Overton Waller lived his entire life in the Puxico Missouri area with the exception of a brief stint in Arkansas. Thomas married twice. First to Mary Canada in 1864 and later to Nancy Emmaline Caldwell. He went on to become the founder of two large Waller families that are now scattered throughout the United States.

Snow-Arnold Cemetery destroyed completely. It was located on property owned by Bob White Holman. Directions to location on Mormon fiche #6049838. Fiche lists only graves for J.W. Snow 1874-1942 and Lena Ann Snow, 1881-1939
