No "Waller" marriages recorded in Terrell County according to my
records. Can anyone help here?
Lucia Waller married John Thomas Elder (b. 1877, Texas). They were married
at Enterprise Methodist Church near Bronwood, Terrell County, GA on November
4, 1900. Lucia and John had nine children. Lucia died of a miscarriage
during her tenth pregnancy.
Pelius Waller Elder was the seventh child of John Thomas Elder and Lucia
Waller. We have no record of the other eight children. The Elder family is
an illustrious, well-researched, southern family. I am certain it is only a
matter of time until some of their genealogists supply us with this missing
information.

Lucia Lizzie WALLER, was the daughter of John Elihu WALLER (1850
Terrell Co, GA - 1915 Terrell Co, GA) and his stepsister, Lotha Eleanor
"Lottie" RAEGAN (1853 Randolph Co, GA - 1878 Terrell Co, GA). John and Lotha
were married in Terrell County, GA, on November 4, 1874. Lucia was an
"Endfield" Waller. Her roots are well-documented back to the 11th
century.
Since the above was written we were contacted by James Cleveland
Elder, a descendant of Lucia Waller.. The following link will take you to
Jim's website.

All Waller researchers would do well to examine closely the site designed by
James Elder. It's a wonderful website and in my opinion all 21st century
genealogists will have something similar. I am not apologizing for the
"Waller Family" website. The "Waller Family" site is a reference work more
akin to an encyclopedia, and has little or no interest in other surnames
unless they are Waller descendants. While a well designed site such as
Elder's requires a certain level of skill, publishing a basic no-frills
"Home Page" is a very simple process. Every genealogist should have
one.
