Elizabeth Ray married Nathan G. Waller in 1827, Crawford County. - I am almost sure that Elizabeth Ray must have been a daughter of Hardy Ray of Crawford County. There were few Rays in the County (if any other) at the time -
However Wallers do not a appear on census records for 1840 - 50 etc. - Robert Ray of Crawford County moved to Rusk, Texas in 1854-56 and is burried in the Write Cemetery located in the New Prospect area - Rusk County, Texas.
There had been a Methodist church there at one time. In that same cemetery there is buried 2 Wallers - J. M. b. 1840, and Lucy b. 1843.
Could these be the children of Nathan G. Waller and Elizabeth Ray? A lot of speculation on this - but the couple went SOMEWHERE .. and a lot of people were moving toward Texas at the time.
If I knew the names of Nathan G's children it would probably be a clue to connections - and if Nathan G. Waller & Elizabeth in fact went to Texas with Robert Ray.
