Waller Ancestors
of

Return to
Guernsey County, OH
I have a copy of the original marriage record of my gg grandparents, Elisha
Wallar and Jane Leamon, from the Guernsey County Court. They were married
there 10 Apr 1821.
Elisha was born in 1798 in Monongalia County, VA (now Pleasant District,
Preston County, WV) and
Jane Leamon was born there in 1801 - as per my great grandfather's "military
and personal history."
Elisha died about 6 Jan 1848 and Jane in 1865 - both in Clark County, IL.
Jane Leamon was the daughter of James Leamon of Scotland and Rebecca Matheny
of Stafford
County and Monongalia County, VA. James Leamon was a British Regular who is
said to have been captured by Corporal William Waller during the Battle of
Trenton. They became lifelong friends,
moving westward together with their families, both locating in Guernsey
County, OH. James died
there in August 1827 and William on 21 Sep 1832. William's wife, Sarah, died
10 Jun 1848 and
is buried next to William in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jackson Twp., Guernsey Co.,
OH.
Corporal Williuam crossed the Delaware River with Washington's Army prior to
the Battle of Trenton
and he is listed with his regiment on the muster rolls of Valley Forge in
1778.
Samuel Waller's wife was Margaret Graham. Corporal William's wife was Sarah
Green.
If you need the descendants of Elisha and Jane I have them.
